FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEER (STUTTGART)

 

My client is developing the next generation of its industry leading products for the hybrid and electric vehicle markets.

 

They now seek to recruit a Functional Safety Engineer responsible for providing expertise and leadership for functional safety activities involving electronic components and systems.

 

Tasks include:

  • Security officer in the development process

  • Definition, maintenance and tracking of security requirements

  • Requirements engineering (eg safety concept, specifications)

  • Review of test cases and evaluation of test results (component test, vehicle test)

  • Coordination and coordination of work with specialist departments, suppliers and customers

  • Conduct risk analysis, FMEDA and FTA, and track implementation

 

To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

  • University degree in electrical engineering, electronics, systems theory, physics, computer science or a comparable technical study program.

Additional tasks include:

  • Review customer specifications and design hardware to meet requirements.

  • Technical evaluation of designs.

  • Develop test plans, test electronic modules, and create test reports.

  • Analyse test data and provide design change recommendations.

  • Prepare necessary documentation for schematics, bill of materials, hardware software specification, and DFEMA.

PROJECT MANAGER (BADEN-WURTTEMBERG)

 

Based in Baden-Württemberg, our client is a leading player in the field of battery and battery management systems for the global hybrid and electric vehicle market. Due to rapid expansion in their European operations they now seek to recruit an adept Project Manager with experience of Lithium-Ion battery technologies.

 

You will be a  highly driven Project Manager responsible for the liaison with customers to understand, document and communicate requirements to the engineering team, monitoring of resource usage, planning of resources, arranging of equipment and materials to support engineering and production activities and quoting of potential new projects.

 

Responsibilities will include supporting the Head of Engineering through the planning of labour, equipment and materials to support development and production activities whilst monitoring resource usage, plot against targets and take remedial action to ensure on-time and on-quality delivery.
 

You will play an active role in team meetings, liaise with other cross-functional team members, suppliers and other interested parties throughout projects and encourage their involvement and participation and providing regular reports to senior members of staff on project progress and resource budgets.

EMC ENGINEER (STUTTGART)

My client is developing the next generation of its industry leading products for the hybrid and electric vehicle markets.

 

They are looking for a talented electromagnetics engineer to join the Research & Advanced Engineering team, to develop CAE, testing, and other methods of analysis to control unwanted electromagnetic interactions in electrified vehicles.

 

This position evaluates electrical and electronic designs for impact on overall EMC performance and identifies cost effective EMC countermeasures. The ideal candidate is highly organized and good with scheduling to ensure critical deadlines are met.

 

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of the EMC design requirements for electronic automotive modules at a circuit board and system level

  • Research component- and vehicle-level electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues & mechanisms and develop numerical & analytical methods to predict and mitigate them

  • Develop new EMC requirements / specifications / design guidelines to maximize robustness of EMC validation process efficiency & correlation to real world

  • Debug module-/system-level EMC issues on prototype vehicle programs

  • Develop test methods, mitigation strategies, and design guidelines specific to high-voltage electronic systems

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degree

  • Proven experience working in electromagnetics, EMC, antenna design, RF or signal integrity

  • Hands-on experience on RF and/or EMC and Power Electronics measurement methods (including network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, receivers, reverberation chamber, antenna calibrations, current probes)

  • Understanding of EMC standards

  • Strong educational background in Electromagnetic theory & analysis, antennas and radiation, circuit analysis, (S parameters, transmission lines, filters), Electromagnetic numerical modeling methods, Spectrum analysis, linear model identification/fitting and model order reduction, EMC concepts & mitigation strategies

  • Strong communication skills and ability to prepare and present coherent presentations and technical publications
